Goodbye Car!

The A/C broke in our green car, which is pretty unacceptable if you're going to be living and driving in Arizona. We took it in to get fixed and it turns out that because the car is so old, we'd have to retro-fit our system so new Freon could be put in and then there migth be a leak which would have to be fixed in addition to the retro-fitting cost. For such an old car, we decided it just wasn't worth it.

We decided to put it up on ksl.com so that we could have a few weeks to sell it before the big move. I get a phone call at work from Mike and he said, "Well... we don't have a car anymore." Excuse me?

Within seconds of Mike posting the ad, he was getting phone calls. The first guy that called came and bought it. We were kind of shocked!

I'm not sure this story is really blog worthy, but I didn't get to say goodbye to my car. So green car... this one's for you. Thanks for the good times! I hope you drive well for your new owner!

Heber Creeper

My parents took us on the Heber Creeper, which was really neat!

Here's a picture of me taking a picture of Mike taking a picture of me.

It was a really beautiful day! Sunny, cool breeze.

Ellie had a blast looking out the window and telling us that trains say "Choo-Choo!"

Anniversary Numero Tres

We made it! Has it really been 3 years? Happy Anniversary! Mike pointed out that we've been married for 3 years, and law school is 3 years. Oh boy!

Anyways, I planned everything this year in hopes that Mike would be totally surprised and I'd win Wife of the Year award. But, Mike has a way of finding out things and I don't think I've ever been able to surprise him.

So we left this behind...
...and went to Logan. It was the first time we've left Ellie overnight, so it was kind of bizarre. We found ourselves talking about her... a lot, and we caught ourselves missing her a lot.

We went rollerskating, and played pool. We walked around the Logan Temple. Mike tried his first Aggie icecream, as pictured below. He tried Aggie Blue Mint, and I stuck with my favorite Lemon Custard.

And then we ate the most incredible Korean food I've had since my mission. Seriously... I haven't had kim chi like that since Korea. It was amazing! Mike looks a little disturbed in this picture, but I promise he liked the food.

I even splurged and got kim bap. I usually never order it because in Korea you can get an entire roll for $1, but it's much more expensive here in the states. Ahh... so delicious!

It was a really great anniversary!

Water Works

She had finished crying about 5 minutes before we took this picture, but those two tears remained.

Heart-breaking.

Arizona Trip

I know this is late in coming, but here are a few pictures from our trip to Phoenix a few weeks ago.

We went down for an Admitted Students Weekend that the Law School was holding. We went down a few days early to look at housing. Blech! We spent the better part of 2 days going from complex to complex, and never really found the "perfect" apartment. Either the location was good and the apartments weren't that great, or the apartments were good and the location was bad.

On Friday, we took a tour of the new campus. The school is moving from North Phoenix to the heart of downtown. We were both a little surprised how unfinished the building is, and Mike starts classes there in two months. But they say they'll be up and running by then.

That night, there was a really nice Dean's Scholarship Dinner at a restaurant downtown named The Arrogant Butcher. We were really nervous to take Ellie, seeing as how she won't sit in a high chair for longer than 5 minutes nowadays. But she was a super star! Especially since we didn't even get our food for 2.5 hours, and were there for a total of 3.5.

Mike spent all Saturday at the Law School attending classes and student panels. He was also able to meet a lot of his new classmates, and he's very excited to start school in the Fall.

I didn't take a lot of pictures, but here's one of Mike's silhouette, standing in front of the view from the 20th floor of the law school.

And here's one of Ellie reading books at the Phoenix City Library.

This is quite possibly my favorite picture of Ellie. Ever.

Fun with the Fam

Zeke, Natalie, and the kids came to visit from out of town and we were lucky enough to be able to spend some time with everyone (minus Dave... sorry Dave! We missed you!) But anyways, here are some pictures I snapped throughout the day.
