Déjà vu

Didn't we just do this? For the third time in 16 months, we moved. This time it's back to South Jordan to live with my parents. They are kind enough to house us for 3 months before we make ANOTHER move to Phoenix in July. Ugh... I hate moving.

Things I'll miss about Murray:

1) My 3 minute commute to work.
2) Our 5 minute walk to the library.
3) Living within 5 minutes of just about every store or restaurant you can imagine.

Things I WON'T miss about Murray:

1) The incredibly squeaky floors in our apartment.
2) Being able to hear everything our neighbors were doing, and vice versa.
3) The creepy people in the apartment complex down the street from us.

Another nice thing about moving now is that all of our stuff is packed away in a storage unit and is ready to throw in a U-haul when the time comes.

Packing with a 15 month old toddler was fun. Well, maybe fun isn't the right word for it. Challenging. Yeah, challenginig is more like it. Bless her heart, she sure thought she was helping. She mainly just took things out of boxes.

Now we just have to survive the move to Phoenix and hopefully we'll settle down in one place for a few years.

Summer?

I woke up this morning and checked the weather on KSL. Imagine my surprise when I saw this:

Does that mean summer is here?

Discovery!

We finally made it to the Discovery Gateway Museum! Ellie had a really great time, and I think she'll have even more fun as she gets older.

We got to climb in the Life Flight Helicopters, which fly over our apartment so often on their way to the hospital. This was of particular interest to me since I get to see the Life Flight crew occasionally in the ER. It's hard to imagine that they can work their magic in such a small, confined space while flying at dizzying heights. I gained a newfound respect for them!

And Ellie loved flying the helicopter.

Well, it does!

This was my favorite part of the museum, although I don't think Ellie quite understood the point of pushing a shopping cart around and shopping for groceries. I had to restrain myself from stealing the plastic food from everyone's shopping carts and re-stocking and organizing the shelves. Raw fish does NOT belong on the bread shelf, kids.

Here's Ellie riding a horse. Again... I'm not sure she really knew what was going on.

Ellie's favorite part was playing in the water. They had waterproof smocks you could put on, which only served to channel water down the front of her and onto her shoes and pants. Oh well! She had fun.

And here she is reading a book in an Ellie-sized chair. So cute!

We had a great time at the Children's museum!

Cooking Mama

I tried a new recipe: Butternut Squash Lasagna. I had high expectations, which it didn't quite live up to. But at least we got some really good pictures out of the ordeal! Thank goodness we had the foresight to strip her down to her diaper before she got started.

I love how her eyebrows are glued upwards in this picture!

This facial expression will probably match the one she'll make when I'm showing these pictures to her future husband. "Really, Mom? Really?" That's what I'm anticipating she'll say to me. Sorry Ellie! These are probably going into the wedding video.

She refused to nap in her crib...

What fools we were to think we had to buy her a crib to sleep in. She prefers the Huggies box.

You'd think that a day so fantastic would never slip my mind... but this is the first time I've ever remembered to celebrate!
